Bournemouth University

Course: MSc International Hospitality and Tourism Management

Duration (including placement): 2 years

Course fee: £14,000

Course details: This course is intended to provide students with an advanced understanding of the hospitality and tourism industry, and a managerial perspective of how to run such organisations. The programme provides students with the opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge in a number of areas, including consumer behaviour, marketing, and international human resource management.

Placement details: Students have the option to complete a full-time work placement, for a minimum of 30 weeks, in a range of environments from tour operators, to events companies. It is the student's own responsibility to find their own placement, but the university provides ongoing support in assisting students with finding something.

Oxford Brookes University

Course: MSc International Events Management

Duration (including placement): 17 months

Course fee: £14,300

Course details: By working closely with the university's Research Centre for International Tourism and Events Management, students will explore recent research and the challenges within the industry to help develop their potential to become leaders within the events sector. Course modules vary from business and finance, to digital marketing.

Placement details: Students have the opportunity to complete an 8-month paid work placement in the UK in an event management role for a commercial or non-profit organisation. The university offer student support in finding a placement and are in contact with various organisations. They hold a database of current opportunities, and regularly run placement fairs, where students can meet employers.

Queen's University Belfast

Course: MSc Applied Cyber Security with Professional Internship

Duration (including placement): 2 years

Course fee: £15,200

Course details: This course aims to develop the next generation of industry leaders and address the shortage of cyber security professionals globally. The programme syllabus is based on research currently being undertaken at Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT), the UK's largest university research lab in this field. Modules include Network Security and Monitoring, and Computer Forensics.

Placement details: The university will, where possible, assist students in applying for professional internships in local, national, and international companies, for a period of up to 1 year. At least 6 months of the internships is required to be research focused, and will form an integral part of student's Individual Research Project module. Previous internships have been offered by companies such as Facebook, McAfee and PwC.

Sheffield Hallam University

Course: MSc International Marketing

Duration (including placement): 18 - 24 months

Course fee: £14,750

Course details: This course allows students to build the knowledge and skills to develop or enter a career in marketing, particularly in international organisations. The course modules are based on the professional requirements of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and look at areas such as entrepreneurial marketing, and international consumer behaviour.

Placement details: As part of the course, students work on a live consultancy project for three months for a UK based company under academic supervision. The placement option offers students an additional opportunity to develop their practical skills. The university help students gain a placement by running employability workshops and have a dedicated placement team offering ongoing support.

Course: MSc Policy Analytics

Duration: 1 year

Course fee: £16,500

Course details: The MSc in Policy Analytics provides training for students who want to develop their ability to apply data analysis techniques to a range of substantive and policy related questions. As part of the university's Politics and International Relations school, the course offers rigorous data analytic training alongside a specialisation in a policy subfield (e.g. social and family policy, economic and public policy, environment, criminal justice, security).

Placement details: All students enrolled on this course will have the opportunity to undertake a work placement with one of the university's industry partners. This allows students to get hands-on analysis experience for a period of between 2 to 11 weeks. There are a wide variety of placements for students to choose from, both locally and nationally, from public sector organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and industry.

University of South Wales

Course: MSc Embedded Systems Design

Duration (including placement): 18 months

Course fee: £12,600

Course details: Accredited by The Institute of Engineering and Technology, the University of South Wales MSc Embedded Systems Design course concentrates on the commercially important and rapidly expanding area of embedded digital systems, looking at how embedded systems are designed and implemented in hardware and software.

Placement details: The course has a significant input from industry. Following successful completion of six taught modules, students are competitively selected to join participating UK companies or University Research Centres on a six-month period of unpaid work placement before returning to undertake their major research project. All students who have an offer for the MSc Embedded Systems Design (with internship) are guaranteed an internship either in industry or in a University Research Centre.
